That’s Magic by Brandon McCormick

3 Feb

Since my childhood I have loved stage (and now street) magic. The simplest tricks gave me a wonderment I can no longer capture.

My father occasionally took me to the magic department in the basement of Wiley’s emporium in a Manchester that has long gone. There they had small hand tricks for pennies and large stage props for too many pounds.

David Nixon, Al Koran (you could not get away with that stage name these days), David Berglas and more stage and tv magicians fascinated me. I practised table top tricks with cards, glasses and silks and loved the apparatus and the “business.” One day I will revisit those enchanting times and renew my card manipulation.

Meanwhile… here’s a short, musical and very magical video.

A disenchanted magician (Jackson Walker), with the help of a lovely fairy, gains back his belief in magic. This short movie was directed and edited by Brandon McCormick and produced by Whitestone Motion Pictures. En joi!
